New Garden’s Steve Windham elected Vice Chair of Greensboro Beautiful
In November 2013, New Garden Landscaping & Nursery landscape designer Steve Windham was elected Vice Chair of Greensboro Beautiful. Following his Vice Chairmanship, he will take office as the Chair of the Board of Directors on August 1, 2014. Greensboro Beautiful is a volunteer organization that partners with the city and citizens of Greensboro to enhance the beauty and ecology of the community by raising private funding, providing volunteers, and collaborating on community enhancement projects throughout the city.
Steve has been involved with Greensboro Beautiful since 2003. He was encouraged to volunteer with the organization by his family, which has a long history of involvement with Greensboro Beautiful. His early participation included assisting with several community cleanups, including Big Sweep and Great American Cleanup. He has also served on the Urban Forestry Committee and the Public Gardens Committee, the latter for over 6 years, during which he has served as both Chair and co-Chair. Over the course of his association with the organization Steve has volunteered with almost every tree planting, event, and community cleanup group in Greensboro Beautiful.
His professional skills have also benefited the organization. Steve has designed or been involved in the design process for several gardens at the Greensboro Arboretum, including the Winter Garden, the Pattie S. Newlin Memorial Garden, and the new Arboretum entrance on Ashland Drive.
New Garden Landscaping & Nursery congratulates Steve on this achievement and his long involvement with Greensboro Beautiful. Steve exemplifies one of the core ideals of our company: building long-lasting relationships with our employees, customers and communities. Thank you for your continued service, Steve!
