I have a BS in Horticulture from Temple University and I'm also a North Carolina Certified Plant Professional. Before I joined New Garden I was a grower/propagator/gardener at an estate property in Pennsylvania.
I started at New Garden six years ago as a Foreman on a Hort route. Now I am a Landscape Services manager and I also manage New Garden's seasonal color program (planting summer flowers in spring and pansies in fall) creating the designs for each property and selecting plant materials with the property owners. Of course I don't plant all those flowers myself! Our great flower teams do most of the planting but I still get my hands in the dirt a lot.
I really enjoy the relationships that build as I work with the same client over many years. I can see the enjoyment they get from the transformation of parts of their property over time; to see the property through many seasons is to understand their landscape and their use of it. I feel direct connection to the clients as we work together and share ideas of enhancement.
I like to relax by gardening at my own house, reading, and going camping when I get the time.
